Vilija Vitk has been working as a professional body painter since 2013, utilizing various techniques such as camouflage, illusion, special effects, UV, abstract, installation body painting, face painting, and creative makeup. She is a world body painting champion in special effects and is known worldwide her camouflage body painting artworks. THE MEMORY OF WATER
The performance is a fusion of live body painting by Vilija Vitkute and dance by Małgorzata Suś. It creates a unique experience where the two powerful forms of expression merge, and the audience gets the opportunity to witness them in a live act. The performance includes mesmerizing visual projections, created with the images taken during the artists’ journeys to Iceland, Gotland & The Azores. The breathtaking landscapes accompany the story that is being told on stage.
The dancer embodies the experience of traveling through different life phases and different natural landscapes. Taking inspiration from the demanding, extreme environment of Iceland, and the rich nature of the Azores, being driven by strong emotional states, she takes the viewers on a journey that reminds us of the power of human connection to nature.
The live body painting act gives a rare opportunity to observe how the interaction between painter and dancer shapes the performance, and how the painting emerges on the living canvas of the human body.

Vilija started working with paper art at the early age of 12. Today, she combines it with body painting, costume design, and installations. Her paper art has been featured in international media, such as VOGUE, and has been used in films and videos.

In 2014, Vilija dove deeply into the world of and film. She works as an artist, director, producer, actress, and model for various film and TV projects internationally. She has created several art films, music videos, and art videos that have been awarded, nominated, and showcased around the world.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography has been one of the first ways for Vilija to express her creativity and view of the world. She began her journey as a photographer in her early teenage years and continues to work this field today. She primarily focuses on art/fine art photography, portrait photography, and travel photography.

Artist
Vilija is a visual artist, body painter, creative and visual director, producer, and photographer from Lithuania, living in Sweden since 2010 and in Italy since 2019. Her primarily speaks about human nature, and she believes that artists are a crucial voice in discussing climate change and human impact. Vilija’s passion for art is inspired by nature, music, people, and stories. She focuses on the human body, the environment, equal rights, and climate change. Her body painting is unique because creates it with organic paper art designs, paints people blending into their surroundings, and uses body painting to culture and body movement. She has created art in various locations around the world, from the mountains of Morocco to the barren landscapes of the Arctic Circle. Her art and videos have won prizes in Sweden and worldwide.

Artists have been working on nature protection for over six years with various projects around the world, especially focusing on endangered animals and marine life. The artist herself became a vegetarian in her late teenage years and is now trying to eat mostly vegan Her daily life and work are highly sustainable, and she pays close attention to her actions and daily choices when it comes to protecting nature—Mother Earth—especially during these times of climate and human crises. Vilija also works on human rights; she has completed several projects in Sweden, including the "Allas lika värde" project about equality and human rights in Falun, which involved 600 children, well as advocating for LGBT rights at various parades in the EU.
